Welcome! You have reached the Web Site of "Saint Luke's Morris Dancers"
We are a small voluntary group based in the Liverpool Area of Merseyside. We currently have just over 50 members but numbers tend to go up and down depending on the time of year!
We started out as Saint Luke's on 16th May 2000. The group was formed from the remains of the long established Morris troupe - The Cantrelles', who were originally based in Stockbridge Village in Liverpool. The Cantrelles' were trained by Pat and Jimmy Shearn who are still training the girls at Saint Luke's to this day.
We practice once a week - starting at 4.15pm for the Dinkies and ending at 7.15pm with the seniors. We currently have 3 troupes - Dinkies, Junior league 2 and Senior League 1.
Subs are only £2.50 each week and your first practice is free. All you need to bring along is a pair of pumps and a pair of shorts.
Thanks go to all our wonderful helpers - without these people our troupe just wouldn't work!
Netty & Nana (one of our lovely Nanas and our favourite Auntie) who sell sweets and drinks at practice to help raise money for our Christmas Party and other goodies.
Denise, Rita & Kathy who wash all our dresses every week.
Pat, Colleen & Michelle who wash all our sweaty socks, Tee-shirts and keep our pump bags clean & full of supplies.
Pat, Jimmy & Gemma who train the troupes!
Zoe & Stacey who have been conned into shaker sitting lol!! Good on ya girlies!
Colleen, Val, Nana & Denise who collect our subs, bonus ball & lottery money every week (we run when we see them coming!)
and of course little old "ME" who gets all the dirty jobs, looks after all the money, organises the fund raising, books the bus, pays the bills and listens to all the moans and groans.......... Pat says I'm the "Dogs body!" and believe you me, some days I feel like it lol!!!!
